Nexera Acquired by Locus Robotics

Defined is proud to share that our portfolio company Nexera Robotics has been acquired by Locus Robotics, the global leader in warehouse automation.

We backed Nexera in December 2024 because we saw a precise coordinate on the Physical AI map: the gripper was the unsolved bottleneck holding back autonomous fulfillment at scale. Millions of SKUs, every one a different shape, surface, and weight. Nexera's patented NeuraGrasp™ collapses that complexity into a single AI-driven end-effector and now sits at the core of Locus Array's mobile manipulation roadmap.

Our Physical AI thesis is built on a conviction that general-purpose robotics will arrive vertical by vertical, capability by capability — and the companies that own the hardest unsolved primitives will define the category. Nexera was one of those primitives. Locus is now the platform that scales it into the real economy.

Congrats to Roy Belak on his tenacious leadership and vision and the entire Nexera team on a defining milestone — and to Locus on acquiring a category-shaping capability to build the next era of autonomous fulfillment.
